ENGLISH VERSION : FRANCE’S HONOUR ?

Facing the judiciary and political authorities’ determination to condemn Yvan Colonna, some Corsican leaders have called upon “France’s honour”. This reveals, for the least, an amazing naivety. Not that this great nation, which is not ours, be honourless. It would be unjust to say that. This evening, many among the French are shocked regarding the situation endured by Yvan Colonna. The problem is that when in a country injustice sets firmly foot in at the highest level of political responsibility, honour is the least of worries of those who decide about life, death, freedom, and imprisonment… Would it have been reasonable to call upon Russia’s honour during the stalinist trials? Or to Spain’s honour when the leaders were pro-Franco?

France, which is persecuting Yvan Colonna, is neither the one of Victor Schoelcher nor the one of Jean Moulin.

Its honour seems between brackets for a long time.
